Downfield Golf Course private commission was awarded to John in late summer 2007 as a gift for a members 50th birthday and who had a particular connection with the 11th green and the bridge over the burn.

John enjoyed this painting as it brought back a fair bit of nostalgia being the location of John's childhood play area around the Downfield and St. Mary's area of Dundee.
