This
farm animals picture called "Feathered Friends", of hens
and geese turned into an idea for an oil painting following a few days
stay at a bed and breakfast at Hilda's countryside farm in Clunie Perthshire,
Scotland.
It was a mixed farm not far from Blairgowrie, with cows,
hens, a few pigeons, and of course a working border collie dog. However
since the hens ran free outdoors, their seed source became available to
a few local wild geese, more interested in a free dinner than the Scottish
scenery.The
picture was completed with a ramshackle henhouse, put together with an
assortment of wooden planks and corrugated iron secured with fencing wire
and binder twine, but full of artistic character. The farm animals loved
it.
