Geraniums in every shade of white, red, pink, and salmon are mixed into this flowering plant bed, edged with Delosperma, (a succulent which hugs the ground and covers the wall), and set off with a central specimen plant of a date palm.

The south facing aspect and warm house wall behind this bed gives the geraniums good growing conditions in a well manured, fertilised and watered border.

The only problem this year has been a few caterpillars, a lot of cutworms and a small infestation of vine weevils. These were all controlled by searching and removing them as soon as any damage was noticed.
