Lily
white, lilium regale may be one of the easiest to grow and fairly common,
but only because it is so outstanding, with an overpowering exotic scent.
It flowers in mid summer and can always be relied on to put up a stunning
show, provided it gets full sun and a moist but very free draining soil.
It will thrive on a shallow layer of good soil on top of builders rubble.
