Dundee, Nethergate in Bloom was painted in oil on canvas showing Dundee Parks Dept. at their best providing a very colourful summer display of bedding plants in the city centre for everybodies enjoyment.

This image has special memories for John as he was trained as a gardener with the Dundee parks Dept in the early sixties, before he chose art as a career.

However not long after this oil painting was completed the town centre was redeveloped and all the flower beds removed. This view shows the town in better times.
