Snowdrops
lit by the winter sun underplanted in a coloured stem border of Cornus
alba and Kerria japonica.
It is a joy to see the first snowdrops knowing that spring is on its way
and the gardening calendar has started.
You
can plant snowdrop bulbs in early autumn, or plant them green ie. while
still growing and flowering or immediately after flowering. One of the
best places to see spectacular snowdrops is at the Snowdrop Festival in
Cambo estate in Fife, not far from St. Andrews.
They also show an art exhibition dedicated to snowdrops. To get directions
and opening times please check out their website at cambo
estate snowdrops.
John has completed several snowdrop paintings seen here on the right and
at this link to more snowdrop paintings.
